Starting simple

This is more of a post mortem and things i have learned after making this

After making many games (Somes lucky to be finished some don't) i realized one thing. Making game is really hard

no matter if it's a simple pacman or a bombastic AAA game all genres just have it's own something that make it so hard to motivate yourself to develop it.

Games isn't just gameplay, it's music, programming, level design, art, sound design, and many other creative process that just goes together. sometime it goes well, many time you just lost motivation at the sheer number of it.

If there's one thing i have learned is that i really never started small, and by small i mean really small. Everytime i just wanted to create a simple platormer i always fixated on the idea of impressing somebody that i never think simple and let my motivation goes away.

Now after making this small little game i think i finally understand when it comes to learning game dev. Just finishing your games, even if you cutted 80% of stuff is much more important. (Fyi this game was supposed to be like that beat you xxx game but i realized im dumb at animation so i cutted that)

So yeah starting simple and ending simple, that's what i have learned. So maybe the next thing im going to do is either a point and click game or maybe a game jam where i create a simple arcade too.

ofcourse i am going to ramp up the ambition so i could improve but still staying realistic and cut things where things need to be cutted

I'll see you later space cowboy.
